Why having dark complexion is bad and having a fair complexion is good, why being bald is bad and having thick hair good, why being short is bad and being tall seems good?
Bala is a movie that touches those disputed areas that are considered taboo in our society. Now as weird as it may seem but its the harsh reality of our society. Our Society has defined kind of a culture where fair, tall and lean people are admired, on the other hand, dark-toned, short and fat people are body shamed. Such narrow and undiscussed topics should be brought into the light.
Talking about the movie it's about a man who has lost his hair because of premature baldness. He used to be boastful of his hair since his childhood, but when he reached adolescent he started losing his hair. By the time he reached 25, he had lost half of his hair. He started feeling bad because of this. Along with this, the film also shows a girl(Bhumi Pandekar) who is dark-toned and irritated by society for being narrow-minded.
Now the story mainly revolves around Ayushman Khurana whose name is Bala and he falls in love with Yami Gautam. The rest of the film revolves around problems faced by him and how he deals with that.
The message which the film has passed is really commendable. Why do we need to change ourselves because society is making fun? Just accept yourself the way you are. One should not let oneself down if one has some disability. Its what we are from inside that matters a lot and not how we look outside. Just leave the life way you want, come fall in love with yourself :)
