Disruption in e-pharmacy sector

Reliance Invests in Netmeds  Are we going to see disruption in the e-pharmacy sector as well, as it happened with the telecom sector? Amazon acted as a catalyst for this when they decided to delve into the pharmacy sector as well with Amazon pharmacy. Now there are several small e-pharmacy startups like 1mg, midlife, etc. Seeing the waves coming, Netmeds decided to sell its shares to Reliance Retail, which led to reliance presence in the e-pharmacy sector. Presence of giants like Reliance and Amazon, who have lots of cash to invest, I am foreseeing the condition of e-pharmacy to be similar to that of the telecom sector. Though Pharmeasy and Medlife merged, I don't think it would be much use unless we see some significant investment to support these startups.

Dollar: wear the change

Is Dollar failing to bring the required chang e? Recently  Dollar Industries Ltd  changed its logo and tagline as a revamping exercise and to rejuvenate the brand.  It changed its slogan from "fit hai boss" to "wear the change." Currently, it is having a market share of 15 percent in the hosiery segment in India. They have said in their official release they are targetting younger audiences. What astonished me is that they are continuing with the same brand ambassador, i.e, Akshay Kumar , from approx ten years. I think if they want to focus on revamping the brand, then they should seriously focus on the face of the brand. If one looks closely at its competitors Rupa(who is currently the market leader) and Lux innerwear (who is also having close to 20 percent market share), these brands have roped in young actors as their faces. Rupa has Ranveer Singh as it's brand ambassador, while Lux has chosen Varun Dhawan as their brand ambassador. Should Dollar also focu...

API: A superhero without a cape

The power of API All of us must have heard API though we might or might not have complete knowledge about it. Ever wondered how a person who is texting from his WhatsApp can communicate with another person on any company’s portal. Here API comes into the Picture. API stands for Application Programming Interface, though as cliché as it may sound, its work is similar to mentioned in its full form. It acts as an interface to connect two apps, platform. Let me elaborate this with an example: Suppose you want to eat something, but you don’t even want to go outside because of the Sun, so you order online and got food delivered by a delivery boy. In this way, you protected yourself from exposing to the Sun. API performs the same function if two portals want to communicate with each other without sharing much information. With WhatsApp API, communication can be established between a website or any app and WhatsApp. This is so crucial as WhatsApp has become so handy for the peo...

Power unlimited to movie

Movies and unlimited powers Often we forget that the best way to target an audience is through emotions. And when it comes to emotion what could be better than Movies. We think movies are just for entertainment but the subtle message which is hidden in most of the movies we ignore that. There are countless lessons that are hidden inside a movie. All it takes an eye and different angles to observe that. Why I am in particular focusing on movies, as a right-brained person visuals appeal to me more than information. So, I think short video and movies has twice the impact which information can. Just take the example of the movie "Drishyam". It has clearly depicted power which of visuals. What I see gets stamped on our brain for a longer period of time in comparison to what we read. Being a movie-enthusiast I thought to through some light on an area that is either sidelined or stereotyped. Often brands have also leveraged the opportunity of targeting audiences by perfec...

Ultimate satisfaction of eating with hands

Hand eating and benefits We Indians love eating or better I would rephrase my statement approx 80 percent of Indians are a foodie. When it comes to food we don't like to compromise on its taste or quality. But what if I say half of Indians don't enjoy the real taste of the food which it can actually provide. We shy away from eating with our hands. It has been scientifically proven that eating with hands is most healthy. But not talking in terms of health aspects, but when we mix food or let say rice and Curry with our hands, all different flavors of curry get mixed with rice and help us to enjoy food in a better way. When the fingertips come together in a bowl formation and touch food, the five elements are stimulated, along with the digestive juices, simultaneously nourishing the body, mind, and spirit. The direct touch results, as well, in a more intimate feel for texture, taste, and portion size, our saliva mix properly with the food and help us to enjoy the u...

Best food in Dubai : Chapter-1 "Paratha King"

When it comes to North Indian people, most sought after food is aloo paratha. Just mention of the word brings water in the mouth of most Indians. Now the craving level increases when we are away from India and its hard to find quality food. We start searching on google but still, we can't find what we are actually looking for. So, I thought to introduce chapters of best and economic food in Dubai. The enticing picture of paratha which I have uploaded is from Paratha king and there are many outlets of this chain here. I ate this in Al Karama. The paratha was so heavy that your hunger vanishes just after a single paratha and they complement the meal with chhole, green chilly and pickles.  It's slightly on the expensive edge when one compares that with other stores but considering the size and taste, it's worth the price. Afterall satisfaction of tastebuds is the primary requirement🤪

Marriage and compromises

Love is not as simple as it looks and when it comes to marriage it is even more complex. We think that two people are in love and they get married and live happily ever after. But what I must tell you is that the concept of happily ever after is only suitable for movies. It has no real-life significance. The real problem starts thereafter. Initially, everything seems like a fairy tale but we have to keep a phrase in our mind "Dur ke dhol suhane". When marriage happens then complexity arises. It doesn't mean that one should not marry but we have to maintain a trade-off between family and life-partner which is quite a difficult task. You can't satisfy your family and your wife at the same time. And what about your satisfaction and your dreams. You would have to make a compromise with that also. Despite all these horrific things marriage is indeed a beautiful moment in a person's life and as depicted by famous saying "kuch paane ke liye kuch khona ...

Expected percentile and colleges to apply

Now as CAT is over and IIM has also released a response sheet, you all must be wondering about the expected percentile and colleges to apply. So, based on previous year stats I am going to predict the percentile and accordingly colleges to apply. If your score is somewhere around 158 then you would be getting 99 percentile and you would have plenty of options. Maximum chances are there you would get a call from L, K, I., FMS. If your score is around 148, then your percentile would be around 98 and IIM Kozhikode and Indore still may call you. You can all apply to colleges like MDI, NITIE(only for engineers), IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, SP Jain, DFS.  Options of New IIM would always be there if you clear sectional cut-off. If your score is around 128 then you would get approx 95 percentile and you may get a call from New IIM's and from IMT Ghaziabad, IMI Delhi, Ximb Bhubaneshwar, IIT Roorkee, IIT Kanpur, DSE, DBE, IIM Ranchi hrm. If your score is aro...

Life is beautiful and love is the reason for it.

Love failure is good, having faced betrayal in life is good and so is rejected by someone who you have admired passionately. These all make you strong, teach you a lesson not to treat other people in the same way you have been treated. But to not love again, not rise again and not fall for someone is the misery of maximum people Our past failures stop us from trusting, loving and admiring someone.  Let's just learn from the past and shift+Del it from life. Love again, rise again, this life is the most precious gift to mankind. We should cherish it and make full use of it. Relationships are not about push-pull but holding strings together and striving hard not to leave it. It's neither about living with someone who you are not comfortable with. Unless two people don't have the same connection, carrying forward relationship doesn't make sense. When we give importance and attention to someone we are seeking for, the whole sufferings would vanish, life would become...

Amritsari taste in Dubai

If you are foody like me and love to explore exquisite tastes, then this place Amritsari restaurant located in Al Karama is the right choice for you. It has a taste that gives you a buttery flavor and Punjabi aroma. I tried "mix kulcha with chole" there and they served it with chopped onions mixed with sauces and garlic. It was complementing the taste of the whole thing. Kulcha was crunchy and stuffing inside was also good. The chole had a typical Punjabi flavor. I must say it was one of the best dishes, which I have tried in Dubai till now. Please visit there and tell me your experience  :) Amritsar Restaurant U.A.E

The Hypocrisy of Beauty

Why having dark complexion is bad and having a fair complexion is good, why being bald is bad and having thick hair good, why being short is bad and being tall seems good? Bala is a movie that touches those disputed areas that are considered taboo in our society. Now as weird as it may seem but its the harsh reality of our society. Our Society has defined kind of a culture where fair, tall and lean people are admired, on the other hand, dark-toned, short and fat people are body shamed. Such narrow and undiscussed topics should be brought into the light. Talking about the movie it's about a man who has lost his hair because of premature baldness. He used to be boastful of his hair since his childhood, but when he reached adolescent he started losing his hair. By the time he reached 25, he had lost half of his hair. He started feeling bad because of this. Along with this, the film also shows a girl(Bhumi Pandekar) who is dark-toned and irritated by society for being narrow-mi...

Made in China Movie Review

Made in China is a movie that I would call a combo of entertainment. It will make you laugh along with a very serious message. Rajkumar Rao is very choosy when it comes to selecting movies and we can easily observe from the choice of movies he selects. Now talking about the movie, it is about a fickle-minded man and who always comes with different kinds of startup ideas but to his bad luck, none of his idea succeeds. His family condition was also not good and his relative Summet Vyas used to pay his child tuition fees. Everything remained such only till one day Rajkumar Rao whose name is Raghu in the movie met Paresh Rawal. He teaches him how business actually works. He enters into a venture ship with Boman Irani(Dr. Vardhi) who happens to be a sexologist and used to help people with Sex-related problems on a small scale.  The venture started performing good when they find a way to deliver things to the people and market it using the name of Dr. Vardhi.  They later face...

Mughlai Curries and Biriyani's Paratha review

Get submerged in the taste of this beautifully made Aloo Paratha and Gobhi Paratha from Mughlai Curries and Biryani in International City, DUBAI. I can proudly say it is better than most of the restaurants in India. It's every bite would give you soothing experience and taste like never before. I would rate Gobhi Paratha 5/5 and Aloo paratha 4.5/5. A must try for everyone especially those who are fond of Parathas :)

Ujda Chaman Review

Starting with the character, it's about a man who has premature baldness and works as a Hindi teacher in a College. He aspires for a beautiful wife but because of his baldness faced many rejections. The story is crafted exquisitely and is full of comedy. It gives a beautiful lesson that what matters is how a person is from inside and not his/her exterior looks. Sunny Singh has delivered justice to his role. Maanvi Gagroo although she has a very small role she has done justice to her role. The movie has shown beautifully how a bald person is seen and made fun of. It has also shown real-life situations with a touch of humor, how a family and person feel when a person is rejected in a marriage because of his looks. The movie has the best moments in bits and pieces, it was not seeming to be continuous. I liked one of it's dialogue a lot which says "yu to dilon ki baat karta hai zamana, par Mohabbat aaj bhi chehre se shuru hoti hai ". It's fun to watch and I wo...

Why name The Confused Blogger

Now when you came through this blog, you must have wondered why its name is such a "Confused blogger". It not because I remain confused most of the time. It is mainly because I won't be covering any particular area. Now it would also raise the question if I am not interested in any particular area then what was the need for a blog in the first place. :D Besides the fun part. I love to express my thoughts and so I came with this. I love to impart lessons of love for I am a movie buff and each from each movie I gain something and that pushes for reflective thinking about myself. I am a foodie also and often love to watch food blogs. So I would also be sharing my experiences of food from different places. It would be a kind of Gourmet's diary. As I have mentioned above also I am a movie enthusiast. So I would also be sharing my experiences of different movies and TV series and how I felt about it. Hoping you would like my blog and you also star...
